Haven't pulled the trigger on any yet.

First one i'm look at is

1) Furky over 69.5 1st round (-165)

-Besides last year (where he played very well), you have to go back to 2000 for him to had even made a British Open cut.

-This course is the longest and the toughest of the rotations which does not suit Furky's game...he's currently 69th on the circuit in driving.

"Carnoustie is long. Furyk is not. He’s extremely accurate from the tee and will get plenty of roll, but his regular ball flight is also not suited to the course and conditions."

2) Davis Love III not to make the cut (-105)

-he's missed the cut in the last two British opens (played well in the 5 prior)
-missed the past 3 cuts on the tour
-playing terrible golf for the year after a decent beginning

3) Cabrera not to make cut (+190)

-very streaky golfer who hasn't golfed since his big US Open win
-has missed 3 of 8 cuts this year
-let down possible situation, obviously his driving will give him a shot but if his accuracy isn't there he could be in trouble.

Haven't pulled the trigger on any yet, just wanted to see if any discussion could get going. I'll be back later tonight with some plays

I love the reasoning in this bet, played it to thegreek.

I do not know much about golf but this possible letdown situation for Cabrera sounds weird because British Open is such a big happening? His odd not to make cut surely looks tempting.

Good luck to this tournament :103631605

i guess a letdown is the wrong wording...you just have to wonder how much partying/relaxing he's been doing since the US Open and if he'll hve the same focus. He can hit the tar out of the ball but if his accuracy isn't there he will be in for a long day.

locked myself into my first bet

1. Furyk over 69.5 (-165)

adding matchups played on pinny lean

1. Fasth +.5 (+140) over Furyk....this will definetly move he's +129 at pinny and you're getting .5 strokes

adding the following

4. Davis Love III not to make the cut (-105)

-this guy has missed his last 3 cuts and the last two British Opens. See no reason he turns it around this week

5. M. Weir to make cut (-185)

-has missed only 2 cuts this year
-made 4 of past 5 Open cuts
-plays early tomorrow when the conditions are suppose to be better

ironically, he shot an 83 on this course in 1999 and still made the cut...shooting a spectacular friday...

ripped off of someone else's preview

"The former Masters champ finished 20th at both the U.S. Open and Masters this year, and the Canadian has made the Open cut in 4 of the past 5 years with a best finish of 9th in 2004. He loves links golf, is an excellent bunker player and can perform well with his accuracy and solid putting."

-laying off the cabrera bet after reading some bit...he's actually played two tournaments since the open and shook some of the rust off

2) Weir to make cut (-185)

3) D. Love III not to make cut (-105)

4) Fasth+.5 over Furyk Rd 1 (+140)

5) R. Allenby -.5 over Daly Rd 1 (-156)

adding #6

6. David Howel not to make cut (-105)

-been injured all year long, hasn't made a British cut since in last 5 tries
-would be a double bet but he has two early tee times to his advantage
-missed barclay cut last weekend, after shooting a 75 on the 2nd day
-doubt his health will allow him to put in two good back to back days to make it
-weather definetly is not good for back injuries

Love missed the cut (win

Weird (barring a total collapse) will make the cut (win)

Howell assuming the cut stays at +4 will make it, he's currently at +4 (loss)

4-2 for posted bets.

Nice hits BetIt...

Notice you're doing really well with the golf. Apparently, alot of money to be made in it. One of the few sports where you can land a 100-1 shots. I've got a couple of sites that I've always been recommended when it comes to golf betting, and good info if you're interested. You may have heard of them...

http://www.tour-tips.com - always been recommended their picks, but never really looked at it much as I've never been able to get into golf.

http://www.racingpost.co.uk - they're a betting newspaper in the UK, but they've got a solid golf section. You can register and check out the 'RP Sport' section. They usually have some good info/stats up for the weekly events, especially the majors. Their picks are alright too.

thanks rhino

i'll add both of these to the list of things i read prior to a tourney.

i'll be away from a computer all weekend so most likely i'll just enjoy watching the open and no betting.
